The Plattsburgh State men’s soccer team was able to win once again Wednesday evening to extend its winning streak to six, as it defeated Castleton State College, 2-1, in overtime.

After a scoreless first half, PSUC (6-0-0) was able to finally put one in the back of the net when freshman Shaq Jackson-Lee put it past Castleton State goalkeeper Nate Koenemann from the top of the box in the 61st minute. The goal was unassisted.

The Cardinals were able to keep the Spartans (4-1-0) off the scoreboard for most of the night until the closing minutes of the game, when Bryce Kaler received a cross from Dominic Heller. Kaler took the cross and headed the ball past PSUC goalkeeper Andy Heighington in the 85th minute to tie things up at 1-1, where the score remained at the end of regulation.

It didn’t take long in overtime for PSUC to score in the overtime period as Jarred Antonucci was able to sneak a ball past Koenemann in the 96th minute for the game-winning goal.

The Cards will look to remain undefeated when they travel to Saratoga Springs to take on the Skidmore Thoroughbreds (4-0-1) Saturday at 2 p.m.
