April 24

2:20 a.m. — Brinkerhoff Street —City Police arrested Adam N. Soranno of 119 Brinkerhoff St. because he was in violation of the city noise ordinance.                  

 

3:10 a.m. — Oak Street —City Police arrested Jason M. Leewe of 3 Helen St. and charged him with third degree criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. Leewe was released upon an appearance ticket.                      

 

8:19 a.m. — Hawkins Hall —University Police responded to a reported burglary at the Hawkins Hall Café. Sometime over the weekend someone entered the area through an opening in the glass ceiling and stole several food items. A crime incident report was filed.

 

9:46 a.m. — Myers Fine Arts Building —The Center for Student Health and Psychological Services asked University Police to locate a student in Myers Fine Arts and deliver a letter to her from their office. The student was located and the letter was delivered. A service report was filed.

 

10:33 a.m. — Hood Hall —University Police and the Plattsburgh Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Hood Hall. Upon arrival the building was in full alarm and had been evacuated. A vacuum cleaner had stirred up dust in the basement mechanical room, activating the smoke detector. The area was checked and the alarm was reset without incident. A service report filed.

 

2:52 p.m. — Angell College Center —University Police received a report of a suspicious male who has been attending late night events at the Angell College Center. The male was not present at the time of the report. A service report was filed and the investigation is continuing.

 

 April 25

11:45 a.m. — University Police — University Police received a report from an off-campus student that she had received a telephone call from someone saying they were from Plattsburgh State  and attempted to obtain personal information from her. The investigation is continuing. A crime incident report was filed.

 

3:15 p.m. — Cornelia Street      — University Police assisted City Police with controlling traffic and scene security at the site of a motor vehicle accident on Cornelia Street. A service report was filed.

 

3:43 p.m. — Moffitt Hall — University Police responded to 943 Moffitt Hall for a reported handgun in the room. Officers arrived and spoke with residents who produced a plastic pellet pistol. College charges were filed and a crime incident report was filed.

 

5:02 p.m. — Broad Street— University Police responded to a three-car personal injury motor vehicle accident on Broad Street. One driver was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The same driver was ticketed for following too closely. Motor vehicle accident and service reports were filed.

April 26

10:50 p.m. — Marina Drive —City Police arrested Thomas L. Cronin of 102 Brinkerhoff St. and charged him with unlawful possession of marijuana. Cronin was released upon an appearance ticket.

 

10:53 p.m. — Marina Drive —City Police arrested Mark C. Altwerger of 5024 S. Catherine St. and charged him with unlawful possession of marijuana. Altwerger was released upon an appearance ticket.                     

 

April 27

7:28 a.m. — Harrington Hall —University Police responded to the Harrington Hall laundry room for a chemical fire extinguisher that had been discharged for no apparent reason. The student who discharged the extinguisher was located. College charges were forwarded and a crime incident report was filed.

 

10:56 a.m. — Lot 27 —A student parking ticket writer located a fraudulent Plattsburgh State parking permit while working in Parking Lot 27. A service report was filed. The investigation is continuing.

 

1:05 p.m. — Kent Hall Grounds — A resident student reported his bicycle stolen from the bicycle rack outside of Kent Hall. The bicycle was taken sometime between noon April 22 and 4:00 a.m. April 27. The bicycle was secured, however; the lock was found open near the bicycle rack. A crime incident report was filed.

 

7:42 p.m. — On Campus — University Police conducted fire drills at Wilson Hall, Moffitt Hall, deFredenburgh Hall, Hood Hall, Mason Hall and Kent Hall. There were no issues reported with the alarm systems and a service report was filed.

 

10:50 p.m. — Court Street — City Police arrested Zachary L. Lyon of 91A Whiteface Hall and charged him with a violation of unlawful possession of marijuana. Lyon was released upon an appearance ticket.                      

 

10:50 p.m. — Court Street — City Police arrested Gregory J. Johnson of 91A Whiteface Hall and charged him with possession of alcohol under 21. The individual was released upon an appearance ticket.
