The New Paltz offense comes into today's game as one of the worst in the SUNYAC. Through 11 games, they have produced only 11 goals, second fewest in the conference behind Morrisville who has just three goals on the season. PSUC stands atop the leader board with 56 goals in 12 games. Nineteen of those goals have come in conference play.
The Lady Cardinals defense has still been solid in front of goalkeeper Kathryn Lind, allowing only five goals on 74 shots this season, the best in the conference. PSUC goalkeepers have needed to make just 31 saves all year.
The team is 7-1-0 on the road, and as Radigan put it, they give themselves proper time to recover from travel.
"We mentally prepare," she said. "We think we're tired but we really aren't."
Now two-thirds of the way through the season, Waterbury had nothing but praise for the season her team has had, including the best start in school history, leading goal-scorer in SUNYAC, fewest goals allowed, most shutouts and most corner kicks.
PSUC contributions have come from a wide variety of players. Jackie Rosenberg is great on balls in the air, Lindsay Gilbert and Kaitlin Collica hold down the defense and players off the bench are making their marks, Waterbury said.
"You don't win soccer games with one player," she said.
Bruley said the players to watch on her team will be the two leading scorers Jennifer Anselmi and Elana Jaroff.
"Both are very good at creating opportunities on goal," she said. "We're going to play our game and get a great result."
Waterbury said, "We'll be ready to play. It's an important game for us and them."
