We live in a country where the corporate media dismisses as "wing nuts" the only two presidential candidates who have consistently been honest about the state of the U.S. economy and the evil of using our national wealth to play policeman to an increasingly uncooperative world.

Ralph Nader and Ron Paul have been systematically eliminated from our national debate. Only those who helped create this mess are considered "serious candidates." Our presidential campaigns are covered like horse races that the filthy rich get to bet on and where most citizens can't even afford a bleacher seat.

The only hope for salvation that I can see is for every citizen to stand up at last and shout as loud as we can: "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!" (Howard Beale, Network, 1976).

This includes the ousting of our 16-year Congressman, John McHugh. He has said "yes" to everything that has gone wrong. He is personable and hard working, but he has no clue about what this nation and our North Country requires to survive the upheavals of the 21st century. You will find his press releases on the front of your daily paper and there is always air time for the Congressman. His opponent on the other hand, is kept nearly invisible.

If you are interested in knowing the possibilities for change in this district log onto www.mikeootforcongress.org (http://www.mikeootforcongress.org/). I hope, after doing so you will decide to vote for Mike Oot for Congress instead of the incumbent. I believe Mike knows our needs. He knows our communities. He thinks and feels as many of us do. We need him as our representative in Washington. Mike Oot will be a piece of the solution this nation and our North Country so desperately need.

Change is up to each of us.

I am so glad Mike is running, and hope he is ready for the challenge of drastic change ahead! Let the imagined wealth crash, and we can get back to the business of real things in a real life. (Continued…)
