The senior distance squad, consisting of Toni Wiszowaty, Allison Busby and Alyssa Recny, are staring their last SUNYAC championships in the face. All three are looking to run blazing times in a variety of distance events.

Although each of the three is looking to extend their seasons almost a month past the SUNYAC championships, Head Track and Field Coach John Lynch said they still have goals to go out on top at this meet.

"I know it will definitely be special to them though and I think each one of them would like to finish their last SUNYAC meet with great performances," Lynch said.

With these three top-tier SUNYAC runners, the Cardinals will likely rack up big points in the distance events.

Busby can attest to that, with team goals in mind.

"(I) just want to score as many points as possible for the team and hopefully get a PR," Busby said.

In the field events, sophomore Shannon Young said she is feeling well within her training this week and is looking for a win and a win only.

"My personal goal is to go out and compete and win the shot put event," Young said.

Young and the senior distance squad lead a long list of Lady Card qualifiers.

With almost every event covered with one Cardinal athlete, the list has ballooned to 19 individuals and two relay teams, with seven athletes with multiple qualifiers.

Senior sprinter Jeff Dobson, who has lead SUNYAC sprinters for a handful of seasons, has qualified for three events. The Cardinals have 18 individual qualifiers and one qualifying relay team.

Dobson, and his fellow 4x400 relay team members have a daunting task ahead of them.

"I want to win the 4x4 because we have won that really every year," Dobson said. "I want to be able to say (we were) 4x4 four-time SUNYAC champs. It is going to be hard this year, Oneonta and Cortland have some strong runners, but we match up well."

In the distance events, freshman Mike Heymann and senior Joe Ver look to run their best 5000 runs to date.
