Just when the Fredonia State Blue Devils looked like they were going into halftime down only a point, Plattsburgh State senior-guard Antwane Miller made the play of the game.

Miller quickly dribbled the ball up court and took a pull-up three from the top of the ark with five seconds remaining in the half. The ball swished through the net as the Blue Devil's junior-guard Wayne Davis went sailing by.

Miller said it just "felt good" in reference to the contested trey. The buzzer sounded and then the crowd, which had been silenced by the Blue Devils' previous 9-2 run, went ballistic.

After the momentum shifted back into the Cardinals' favor following the buzzer-beater, the No.10-ranked Cards (24-2, 16-0 SUNYAC) capped off a 22-7 run to start the second half en route to their Tuesday-night 72-62 and 17th straight victory in Memorial Hall. The start of the second was almost identical to the first-half start. Miller, the second shortest player on the court (6-feet), hit the offensive boards (five) ignited the crowd into a frenzy with his hustle.

"I don't shoot the ball all the time, so I know I got to get the ball some kind of way," Miller said. "When Anthony (Williams) or Travis (Gorham) shoots, nobody ever boxes me out, so I just went to the opposite side of where they were shooting."

The Cardinals flew pass the Blue Devils (9-17, 6-10 SUNYAC) in transition during the second half after getting a number of stop in the interior. Senior-center Travis Gorham made his presence felt as he changed a number of shot attempts by the Fredonia drivers. Gorham, as a result of his aggressive play, picked up his third foul early in the second half.

"When Travis picked up his third foul, no I mean when Travis was called for third foul, we went to the zone to protect him and keep him in the game," PSUC Head Coach Tom Curle said.

From there on, it was off to the races as senior-guard Williams played the beneficiary of the Cards' stellar interior defense. He scored eight consecutive points off transition lay-ups. Williams finished with a game high 26 points and six assists as he shook off his two-game shooting slump.
