Maggie's is an interesting place for a band to play and, especially with the madness of Alumni Weekend added to the mix, the bar was quite a scene Friday evening.

Maggie's was packed, and the DJ was blaring music as Syracuse natives, The Fury, were ready to take the stage after being yelled at to stop playing foosball and start playing some music.

They took the stage with pitchers of beer in hand, ready to rock the clothes off of the crowd, as they would so eloquently put it. After fighting with the DJ to turn off the music for a good couple of minutes, the band began to tear into their hour-long second set mixed with several of their original songs, and a few covers that really caught the crowd's interest.

Their style was strictly rock 'n' roll and every facet that surrounds it. The band opened with an original from their CD "She Rocked Me," which the crowd did not respond to at first, somewhat keeping to themselves and living the bar scene.

The Fury was soon able to gauge the response and moved on to a cover of Jet's "Are You Gonna Be My Girl," which immediately caught the attention of the crowd - something the band knew would happen. Mick Fury, lead singer and lead guitarist, has a good rock music voice. His range is not anything spectacular, but it fits the style of music.

After getting the crowd settled with a cover, soon they were able to get the crowd moving with their original work. A song in particular that stood out was the song "Please Don't Lie" which started out with Jose Varona laying down a beat for bassist Alex Walker to come in.

The song has a very southern and "blues-y" sound to it, with Fury showing a more soulful side to his voice and showing more of his talent.

Fury was constantly hitting on the women in the crowd, and most of the time striking out. Fury would most likely say differently, thanks to the one blonde that was constantly dancing in front of him.

"Please Don't Lie" contained an impressive solo performed by Walker, which led into both Fury and Walker going off stage to leave Varona to his own devices.
