Plattsburgh State offers many clubs and organizations that provide students with a wide variety of extracurricular activities to choose from.
With each club and organization displaying different characteristics, it is easy for students to be overwhelmed by the amount of choices they have.
Now, to make it easier, a new program has been developed that will allow all the clubs and organizations to create web pages accessible through the PSUC Web site.
This new program will give organizations the opportunity to produce their own identity and attract future members using the power of their online features.
The addition of this program was brought to fix a range of problems that kept occurring.
"We don't have consistent Web sites - a president of a club or organization will create a Web site and then they'll graduate, and no one else will know how to change that Web site." Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life, Allison Swick-Duttine said. "With this program we will always have access to the passwords. Therefore, another member of the organization can come and change the information themselves."
The program is a $5,000 a year investment that will surely benefit clubs, organizations, fraternities, sororities and students.
Each Web page for every organization will have a basic format in appearance, however all the information that an organization wants to display is based on the creative will of that organization.
These Web pages will provide information such as a description of what the club is about, upcoming events of that organization, a list of their current rooster and officers with e-mail addresses and phone numbers and an e-mail link if a student would wish to request information about that organization.
"I think it's a great thing joining all of our clubs and organizations together under one place online, it will make it a lot easier for all of us," Special Project Coordinator for The Center of Leadership Development Whitney Jahn said.
