"At the Saturday dinner and the Sunday breakfast, there will be a number of faculty and administrators present," Matthews said.
Two of the most popular events according to Matthews are the Burlington bus trip and the casual lakeside dining.
For the bus trip, families pay $10 a person to have a bus pick them up at the Angell College Center at 10 a.m. and bring them to Burlington, VT, where they will have about four hours to walk, shop and eat, and then be taken back to campus later that afternoon.
"Many people signed up for the bus tour," Matthews said. "It sold out very fast."
The casual lakeside dining also sold out rather quickly. It will take place at the Valcour Educational Conference Center where families will be able to dine in the early evening on the shore of Lake Champlain.
While most of the events are designed to be registration-only, Matthews says that a number of the events, such as the Saturday night Bingo, the SA Saturday night movie and the Saturday afternoon ice skating, will be open to anyone who wishes to participate.
Family weekend has been designed to provide visiting students and their families an opportunity to attend events and activities that will allow them to learn more about PSUC life and spend quality time together.
So whether a student has two guests or six, or if they attend many events or none at all, the idea is to spend time with family and share your college life with them.
