A sweetly played acoustic guitar opens the song, going into what could be considered by DKM as a ballad. DKM is still full of heavy hitters - a key track is the song "I'll Begin Again" which starts with a screaming solo that leads to a good ol' fashioned rock 'n' roll song and leaves plenty of room for another guitar solo.
"Never Forget" is another gem that needs mention, mainly because of the emphasis on the bag pipes.
The track is about the loyalty to your friends, family, and the ever-present punk rock scene that is located in Boston.
"The Meanest of Times" is a CD with several quick 2-3 minute songs that will hit you hard, and you won't even notice it.
The only real criticism of the CD is that it does not bring anything different to the table.
Though the band is consistent with their music, they don't seem to go anywhere. Honestly, though, it really doesn't matter. So pour yourself a pint of Guiness, put in "The Meanest of Times," and rock out!
