"We are happy to be 6-0 and it is nice where we are but, we are still fairly grounded and have very tough teams still ahead of us," Head Coach Chris Waterbury said
Although the team's two games this past week were tough, hard fought victories, Waterbury said he believes the team was not sharp and did not give their best effort.
"They kept banging us around and made us fall into traps," he said. "We are still a very young team and we must get through all the mental mistakes."
Both games this weekend are conference games and they are two of the biggest the team will play this season.
"It is going to take a lot of hard work and we just have to play one game at a time," San Filippo said. "Geneseo is a big rival who won the SUNYAC Championship last year and we definitely have a big grudge."
The Card's played both teams last year, defeating Geneseo 3-2 in overtime but lost to Brockport 1-0.
The team now looks to change things around, taking both games and putting them 8-0 on the season.
"We're not going to think about this weekend's games until practice tomorrow," Waterbury said after Tuesday's victory over Castleton. "We have a good idea about what they are like, but we are going to need strong team depth."
He finished by saying, "There are no superstars on this team, any of the 24 guys on this team can start over someone else any given day."
The Card's will play Geneseo today at 4 p.m. and will continue the road trip to Brockport on Saturday for a 1 p.m. game.
