"If I had non-smoking friends, I wouldn't smoke nearly as much."

Carroll said that with smoking and drinking, he feels more drunk than without smoking.

"Getting drunk and smoking is definitely worse," Carroll said.

"I smoked a whole pack on St. Patrick's Day and ended up throwing up blood the next morning."

Blowers is glad that they are now looking at nicotine as a harmful drug.

Even though people are only smoking while they are drinking, they are not aware of the serious damage they are causing their body.

Smoking while drinking increases the damage that would be caused by smoking alone.

"There is an added insult with alcohol," Silver said. "They add a better risk of receiving oral cancer."

Both Jeanotte and Carroll have tried to quit smoking and have failed. Jeanotte fears what it will be like to quit when he is older.

Jeanotte said that he thinks cigarette companies are evil for selling such a harmful drug.

"We wouldn't need all this lung cancer research if people were not smoking like that," he said.
