50 Cent could not have hyped his album any more than he did. On his latest release "Curtis", he may need to do a lot more than just promote it.
Sadly, this album is a bit of a let down.
One would think he would put out a better album, after putting his solo-rapping career on the line.
Fifty luckily ditched his gangster image and was able to create some genius tracks, but only a few.
The album seems to run with the same theme of murdering people, spending money and hooking up with girls.
"Curtis" does start off very strong though. "My Gun" is the opening track, and a very powerful one with viciously aggressive lyrics that would scare anyone who listens to it.
The song is backed by a continuous guitar riff that sets the tone for the track, along with a beat that seems to repeat itself throughout the entire album.
The song "Amusement Park" is one of the key tracks on the album thanks to the songs incredibly catchy chorus along with lyrics where Fifty refers to himself as an amusement park ride.
"I Get Money", the single off of the album, is where Fifty describes his success, his large amount of wealth, and the fact as he states, "I run New York!"
One noticeable factor of "Curtis" is the numerous amounts of guest appearances he has on this album.
Most of the guests on this album seem to steal the show and overshadow 50 Cent himself.
The most impressive track on this album contains two of the biggest stars in the music business today, and seems to steal Fifty's thunder in the song "AYO Technology".
This track, noticeably produced by Timbaland, is a stripper's anthem that is sure to get a club going.
Justin Timberlake takes the spotlight in this song, only singing the chorus of the song yet still leaving his mark.
Eminem makes his hilarious return in the song "Peep Show" where he spouts some of the more ridiculous rhymes while referencing to defecating on a females chest during intercourse.
This track is one of Fifty's more catchy tracks that will be playing in your head for weeks at a time.
"I Still Kill", even though the title may say otherwise, is one of the lighter tracks on "Curtis" that contains an infectious beat along with Fifty's amazing flow.
Akon shows his talent as well on this track, while sounding soulful and smooth, he is incredibly threatening as well.
Mary J. Blige lends her talents on the song "All of Me", but again like most of the guest appearances on this album seems to show up Fifty with her beautiful and strong vocals.
This album is different from Fifty's previous albums, which is a good thing, but still somehow he is able to come up short.
The album starts of strong until the listeners mind will wander and they forget what they were listening to.
Truthfully, the way Fifty
