Cards split twinbills, drop to Middlebury

PSUC got ahead 2-1 in the fourth with a single by Kyle Kowalowski and a double to Kelley which put runners on second and third. Matt Dahlin scored first on a ground out to short. The Cards scored the next run on a fielding error.
Middlebury, however, took the lead and the win in the sixth scoring three runs to put them up 4-2.
Plattsburgh was scheduled to play in a doubleheader against No. 1 SUNYAC seed Cortland on Thursday, but game results were not available at Cardinal Points' press time.
The Cardinals will now host conference rival Oswego at home Saturday at noon. This is a makeup game from earlier this season.
Oswego is currently the No. 3 seed in the SUNYAC, going 7-5 in the conference and 12-8 overall.
With Plattsburgh being just two seeds beneath them in the SUNYAC standings, this doubleheader will have a big impact on the standings coming into the SUNYAC tournament.
SUNYIT is next up on the Cards' plate. Plattsburgh is scheduled to travel and play a doubleheader on Sunday at noon against the SUNYIT Wildcats.
SUNYIT is the last seeded team in the SUNYAC, suffering a 1-11 conference record and going 2-20 overall.
SUNYIT's one win of the season came against New Paltz.
Two wins from this doubleheader will help the Cards climb higher in the SUNYAC standings before the tournament.
