METAIRIE, La. - The Plattsburgh State women's cross country team, coached by John Lynch, has earned the U.S. Cross Country Coaches Association Scholar All-America award. To be honored as an all-academic cross country team, squads needed at least a 3.1 cumulative grade-point average.

FREDONIA, N.Y. - Plattsburgh State junior Jaclyn Leitze was selected as the SUNYAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the period ending April 22, the league announced Monday.
Leitze recorded a 5-1 record with a 1.69 ERA during the past week as the Cardinals went 7-1 to improve to 19-7 overall. In 29 innings pitched, she allowed just 21 hits and had 49 strikeouts.
She has a 12-4 record and a 1.63 ERA on the season.
Leitze leads the conference in strikeouts with 128 and is tied for first in wins.

PLATTSBURGH - Bree Doyle, a three-year goaltender with the Plattsburgh State women's hockey team, has been selected for the Chancellor's Scholar-Athlete Award.
Doyle received a plaque from Ed Engelbride, SUNY's vice-chancellor for student life, on Saturday, April 21, in the Angell College Center Warren Ballrooms. Doyle is a senior biology major with a 3.19 cumulative grade-point average, minoring in both chemistry and criminal justice.
She ended her senior year in style by backstopping the Cardinals to its first NCAA Division III championship in March.
She made 28 saves as Plattsburgh defeated three-time defending national champion Middlebury, 2-1, on home ice. She was chosen to the NCAA All-Tournament Team.
For the season, Doyle paced the ECAC-West Division in goals-against average (1.36), save percentage (.934) and winning percentage (.957; 21-0-2), while leading the nation with 21 victories.
Other Division III statistical rankings included first with six shutouts, fifth in GAA and tied for seventh in save percentage.
Doyle is the program's single-season leader in victories (23), games played (27), minutes played (1604:16), saves (520), and save percentage (.937) - all set while she was a junior during the 2005-06 campaign. A two-time first-team All-American and two-time ECAC All-Academic Team member, Doyle compiled a 50-4-3 mark in 58 career games. She is No. 1 in school history with a .904 winning percentage, 1.26 GAA and .936 save percentage. And she also lists second all-time in games, victories, minutes played (3320:59), saves (1020) and shutouts (13).
