An open letter to Congressman John Mchugh and to the voters in the 23rd District:
On Feb. 22, 2007, I delivered to your office a letter containing my comments and observations concerning your speech to Congress on the subject of the non-binding resolution to stop the surge of new troops to Iraq.
I recently received from your office a letter which is the same letter you sent to all who tried to correspond with you on that matter. You stated that you will continue to be mindful "…of your views…".
Instead of replying to my critique of your speech you chose to send me a transcript of the very speech on which I was commenting. This tells me that you did not even read what I sent to you.
Congressman, please note that I cannot refer to you as a Representative because such a title implies that you "represent" your constituents, and in my mind you have no idea what the people are saying to you and therefore you cannot represent them. It's time for you to START working for the good of the country and not just the good of your party. I think it's time for you to show your face openly to the public and listen to them and debate some of the concerns with which you may disagree.
