The English department offered three credit hours for the staff members of Z-Platt this semester.
"We are learning about the jobs involved in creating a literary journal and the process of acceptance and rejection - that sort of thing," Dean said.
Co-advisor Linda Young, who had been an assistant professor of English at PSUC until last semester, also helped the students via phone and e-mail, Dean said.
Most of the writers are English majors, but some of them are art and education majors. Though the production of the 2007 edition is over, they accept submissions for the 2008 edition from anyone at PSUC.
"It's not just if you think you are a great writer," Ivan Wohner, a PSUC junior and managing editor of Z-Platt, said. "If you have something you're proud of that you've done, submit it."
The 2007 edition also features the poetry of PSUC Provost Robert Golden, in addition to students' work.
"We are featuring people who are currently going to this school," Ward said. "We might continue featuring alumni writers or artists."
They expect the new edition of Z-Platt will be distributed in May.
