With last weekend's games at Brockport and Geneseo being postponed due to bad weather, the Cardinals are now set to play a pair of home doubleheaders this weekend.
On Friday, the Cards will host New Paltz and on Saturday they will host Oneonta.
New Paltz is 7-13 on the season and is yet to win a game in the conference with an 0-4 record for the SUNYAC. The Hawks are coming off back-to-back wins against Russell Sage and has won three out of its last four.
Pitching for New Paltz will be Michelle Reinke and Kelly O' Hea. Reinke is 1-6 this season with 27 strikeouts in 46 innings pitched and has a 3.60 ERA. O'Hea is 3-6 so far and has a 4.02 ERA. She has struck out 29 in 54 innings pitched.
New Paltz is yet to hit a home run this season but still has been getting offensive contributions from several players. Amalia Trapani leads the team in batting average with a .364 average.
Oneonta is 3-11 and has a 1-3 record in the conference. The Dragons are coming off back-to-back losses against Geneseo and have lost three out of its last four matchups.
Oneonta will pitch Jennifer McGrath and Rebecca Burkart against the Cards. Despite a 1-6 record, McGrath has pitched solid this season with a 2.27 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 46 innings pitched.
Burkart is 1-3 with a 3.41 ERA and has eight strikeouts in 26 innings pitched. A large reason for the combined 2-9 record between the two starters is their lack of run support.
Oneonta averages just 2.5 runs scored per game. The one bright spot of the Oneonta offense has been Allison Bandos, who is hitting .304 this season and has scored 11 of the 34 runs for Oneonta.
The PSUC Cardinals are coming off back-to-back shutouts against St. Lawrence.
The Cardinals won the first game of its last doubleheader, 6-0 and won the second game 8-0.
"Anytime you win two games with a combined score of 14-0 you've got to feel good," Head Coach Sean Cotter said. "We ran the bases a lot better and swung the bats real well."
Stephanie Zweig started the game and picked up the win. She scattered four hits and struck out 10 during the game. Zweig improves to 5-3 with the win.
