All these ideas and more were presented by SA candidates yesterday at "Meet the Candidates," the annual assembly where the SA-hopefuls had a chance to express why they feel they are the best choice for the job.
SA elections are taking place Dec. 5.
"It's to provide students the opportunity to share their platforms and begin to understand that there is a lot of responsibility that comes with being an elected official of the Student Association," SA President Michael Cashman said.
Candidates were given a minute each to present the platform they are running on, and any other information they feel necessary that students should know as reasons to vote for them.
After that minute, they were given an additional minute to field questions from the audience.
There are 15 senator positions available, with 26 candidates in the field.
Out of the nine executive positions, four candidates are running unopposed, including junior Kim Garrison for president and sophomore Jacob Avery for executive vice president.
Also, Leanna Robertson is running uncontested for chief justice court of appeals, one of the two chief justice positions.
A majority sentiment among the candidates - especially senator-hopefuls - was that PSUC students need to become more involved with activities and events on campus, and if elected many said that was their main goal.
"If I'm elected I will help get more people involved on campus," Sen. candidate and PSUC freshman Steven Booth said.
Wearing a yellow shirt sporting the slogan "Keogan 4 Senator," opposing Sen. candidate and freshman Alex Keogan agreed that student involvement was a top priority.
