Last Saturday, the Gibson Brothers performed at the First Annual Bluegrass Festival on the Grand Stand at the Clinton County Fairgrounds. From left to right, Eric Gibson, Leigh Gibson and Joe Walsh. On Thursday, Sept. 27, the Gibson Brothers won the 2012 International Bluegrass Music Award for Entertainer of the Year, as well as Best Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year.

This follows last year’s awards for Best Vocal Group of the Year and Album of the Year.

With all this success, the Plattsburgh State alumni, Eric and Leigh Gibson, came back home on Sept. 30 to perform at the Plattsburgh Bluegrass Festival.

Still smiling from the recent wins, they tuned their instruments for the cold weather and gave free workshops for anyone interested in learning about the instruments and music. After an hour of workshops, they took to the stage and performed in sub 50 degree weather for a few hundred fans, while never lifting their smiles.
